Historical Context

Clandestine execution of jailed leftist militants in the city of Trelew. Presidential elections are scheduled for the following year. Perón returns for the firts time since 1955 and stays for a few days in Argentina. Perón banned as presidential candidate.

    • HansonSorrentino in 1972 states in the introduction to this book that the Borges revealed in these seven dialogues is different from the Borges manifested in fiction. Sorrentino does an excellent job recording these interviews and providing a list of themes addressed at the beginning of each conversation.
