Biography

Borges passes entrance exams to enter the Colegio Nacional Manuel Belgrano in Buenos Aires in March 1913, where he studied for a year before the family left for Europe. Publishes his first story, "El rey de la selva," in the magazine of the Colegio under the pseudonym "Nemo."

Biography

School records show that Borges was enrolled on 2 March 1911 at a primary school at Calle Thames 2321 in the Palermo neighborhood of Buenos Aires. Some sources assert that he had begun studying there in 1908. Friendship with Roberto Godel.
