Death of mother, Leonor Acevedo Su√°rez de Borges, on 8 July 1975 at the age of 99. Travels to Michigan State University where he teaches for the semester, giving numerous talks at US universities.

The military begins ‚ÄúIndependence Operation‚ÄĚ in the province of Tucum√°n to uproot ERP from the rural areas. Violations of human rights by the military. Celestino Rodrigo is appointed Minister of the Economy  and implements a drastic austerity program (‚ÄúRodrigazo‚ÄĚ).
